ABOUT
Matthew Carroll is a photographer whose work reflects a lifelong search for belonging across cultures and landscapes. Having grown up between Latin America, the UK, and eventually the United States, and spending significant time in Southeast China, his journey has shaped a deep curiosity about people and the environments they create.
Carroll’s photography captures the nuances of daily life through portraiture and landscapes, focusing on the quiet, often unnoticed moments that form the essence of human experience. His work isn’t just about documenting—it’s about connecting, exploring how we find meaning and identity within our surroundings.
Currently working on long-term projects in both the American Midwest and Shenzhen, China, Carroll’s imagery invites the viewer to reflect on the universal threads of home, identity, and place in a world that is constantly shifting.
